Odesa Kvartira — news from Odesa and Ukraine
A news site: a feed on housing, prices, power and safety, NBU exchange rates, weather and a mortgage calculator.
A news site about Odesa and Ukraine with sections, NBU exchange rates, weather, a mortgage calculator, humor, horoscopes and an RSS feed. In Ukrainian and Russian.
Goal
Build a news site for Odesa residents with sections, original reviews linked to primary sources and useful tools that readers open every day.
The problem
News about housing, utilities, prices and safety is scattered across dozens of sources, while news sites are overloaded with ads and slow on phones. Readers need one place where the main stories of the day are short, clear and free of noise.
Solution
A fast Astro site with a feed on the home page, sections (Market, Ukraine, Safety, City, Laws and taxes) and separate Humor and Horoscope areas. NBU exchange rates and Odesa weather come from open APIs, and the mortgage calculator works out the monthly payment. It also has an RSS feed, an editorial contact form, a photo credits page and two languages: Ukrainian and Russian.
Result
The site brings a news feed, exchange rates, weather and a calculator together in one fast, phone-friendly project that is easy to fill with daily material.
"For a news site, speed and readability matter more than effects. So we built lightweight pages, clear sections and useful tools close at hand.
